The new Lithuanian President

Based on the election results, it looks like D.Grybauskaite has won
in the first round of the presidential elections(in Lithuania it is a popular vote, as opposed to Latvia and Estonia where the President is elected by Parliament.)

I think this is great since the gov't and the president will be well
aligned - esp. as far as fiscal policies go. Needless to say she had
my vote as well.

2009.5.18 UPDATE: today I saw some article in Lith press named "Lietuvos dalia" - it is a quite witty play on words - where "Dalia" is the first name of the President - elect but it also has an approximate meaning - "fate" or "luck". So "Lietuvos dalia" comes out as either "Lithuania's Dalia {Grybauskaite}" or "Lithuania's luck".
