Apparently the film by a Lith-American M.Markevičius has hit the screens not only in Lithuania but now in the USA. LA Times provides this review .
I really liked the movie - in my opinion it well represents what the people were feeling back then in Lithuania. It is a sports documentary that is not only about sports, but about politics, self-identification and the sheer pride in being free again - in 1992 Lithuania was back on the map: it has thrown off the Soviet yoke just about a year ago.
To people the sports victories perhaps meant as much as political victories - it signified that Lithuania and Lithuanians are not "Russian" or "Soviet" any more. Or - "Better dead than red", as the Grateful Dead would say.

The Other Dream Team
There is a new film by Marius Markevičius and Jon Weinbach called "The Other Dream Team". It describes the Olympics of 1992 - the times when not watching basketball and not rooting for one's team could be considered un-patriotic in Lithuania.
